The Phils continue to add minor league dept with these three signings today:
- Josh Barfield - Traded after a successful rookie year with the Padres that saw him hit .280 with 72 runs, 13 homers, 58 RBI and 21 steals, he wouldn't reach those totals combined in the next three seasons. Despite 8 hits in 17 at bats for a rebuilding Indian's team, he never saw anything more than pinch hitting duty. Good middle infield depth for the minors.
- Ryan Feierabend - I have to admit, I had no idea who this was and had to look him up. In 3 seasons with the Mariners he failed miserable to establish himself but he's still on 25. Being a 86th round draft pick doesn't exactly scream late bloomer.
- Brandon Moss - one of the "pieces" in the Pirates got back in the Jason Bay deal, Moss never quite developed but could see time as 4th outfielder if there are injuries this year. None of his seasons quite distinguish themselves but he might show a little pop at age 27.
