Even without Jimmy Rollins, the Phils roughed up supposed phenom Jenry Mejia.

Roy Halladay won game #18 on the season.  He wasn't his sharpest as he gave up 8 hits and 4 earned runs (hey, the Phils won and Halladay wasn't dominant - fantasy win for this guy - I'm against him the playoffs).  If Halladay had been a little sharper, we might have seen the waste of money aka Danys Baez who came of the DL today replacing Scott Mathiesson who went ONTO the DL.

At the plate, I have to give the offensive nod to chooch.  He had a great game.  3 for 3, a run, an RBI and 2 walks.  Up 5 times, on base 5 times.  And lets not forget the smarts to stay in the run down on Wilson Valdez's groundout to allow the run to score to give the Phils the 2-0 lead.  His .397 OBP leads the team.  Shame he isn't fast, he'd be a perfect leadoff hitter for this team.  Howard and Utley each hit home runs and they seem to be finding their strides as well.

Interesting note: Utley is only on pace for 16 homers.  Yes, I know he was hurt, but still.  It would be his least amount of homers since his second season, which wasn't even a full one.

Tomorrow, Jon Neise will be skipped as so Mike Pelfrey can throw against Kyle Kendrick.  KK pitched well in his last outing at Citi Field.  Hopefully he can replicate it.  If he gets knocked around, look for Vance Worley to make the next start in the 5th starters spot.  4:10 is the first pitch.
