First the series loss to the Nats, now this. Today Jimmy Rollins broke the news on Twitter saying this, "Soooooo this is what we got...mild grade 2 stain, gone till September" There's no doubt this a huge loss, you can't deny it. Jimmy has been healthy all year and has put together a solid year batting .268, 14 homers, 58 RBI's, and 28 stolen bases. But he also brings something that doesn't count toward his stats, energy. When Jimmy goes, the Phillies go.
J-Roll wion't be back till after September 6th, that much is certain, no specific date though on how long it'll actually take before he's back in the lineup. Placido Polanco who has been out with a sports hernia said he expects to be activated today but the Phillies haven't announced anything yet. So don't expect him in the lineup tonight unfortunately. Wilson Valdez will probably replace Jimmy at shortstop unless the Phillies go pick somebody up off waivers.
The Phillies are going to need Jimmy for the stretch drive, if we're going into the last weeks of September and Jimmy still isn't even 90% healthy, we're in trouble. So Jimmy, take your time, rest, don't rush back, of course it'd be nice to have you back as soon as you come off the DL, but it'd be better to have you 100% or at least really close to it late in September. Feel better J-Roll and LET'S GO PHILS!
