Gibbs is Big East's MIP - Pitt to play in coaches vs. cancer next season
The Big East awards were handed out today and Ashton Gibbs received the league's Most Improved Player award. Gibbs is the 5th panther to win the award since 2000. He leads the team in scoring at 16.2 points per game.
Jermaine Dixon and Gilbert Brown were finalists but did not win any of the awards they were nominated for (Dixon for sportsmanship and defensive POY and Brown for 6th man of the year).
Also announced today, Pitt will be playing the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic next season. It will take place over 2 weekends: November 8th through 12th and 18th through 19th.
