Now this is just ridiculous.  I like Lebron James.  In fact, I seem to be the only one not crucifying him for choosing to go to the Heat to play with Wade and Bosh.  He’s not the one who couldn’t find a second banana in either free agency or trade (with the way Amare Stoudemire played in the playoffs, it makes you wonder if giving up J.J. Hickson for him might have been worth it).  So Lebron leaves and his owner freaks.  I have to say, this is the first time in my life that I happen to agree with Jesse Jackson, as much as it pains me to type that about the biggest sycophant of our society.  Dan Gilbert acted as if he “owned” Lebron, almost like a slave.  I’m not the first to type this and I’m not the last.  James was a free agent.  He was free to leave.  He honored his contract.  He played his ass off for 7 years for the Cavaliers.  Don’t talk to me about the millions in lost revenue for nearby restaurants and bars.  How about the GAINED revenue in his 7 years…Cavaliers team value included.

However, this takes the cake.  Gilbert, as you may know, owns fathead.  Well, when a player changes teams, his fathead becomes discounted (fathead by the way is recognized word in Microsoft Word), usually at half off.  Take Chris Bosh.  His Raptors fathead is half price, down from 99.99 to 49.99.  Well, in a fit of rage, Gilbert lowered Lebron’s to 19.99.  Then again to $17.76.  Why $17.76?  That was the year Benedict Arnold won his first battle.  Yes, he compared Lebron to a General who was guilty of Treason.

Get a hold of yourself Gilbert.  You lost this battle, act with some class.  Why would any free agent join your team if this is how you treat them if they fairly leave?

Enjoy some Bron Bron dunks:
