It is bad enough that the English side did not show up to the World Cup, but now the reigning champs of the EPL, Chelsea appear to get even softer. They are teaming up with Dolce and Gabbana for formal and casual wear. I can respect the two entities seperately to some extent, but as mediabistro put it, D & G is more well known for dressing wealthy widows than performance atire. And well, soccer players are not known for their ability to dress.
Secondly, was Roman Abromovich, the owner of Chelsea consulted on this? He agreed to allow D & G to redo Chelsea's Directors Lounge? Think again Roman, not a great idea. While D & G did provide formal uniforms for the 2006 World Cup champions Italy, they also were inspired by the 2010 Italy team to make a new underwear line. In case anyone forget, Italy was bounced first round of the World Cup and frankly they played like people wearing granny bloomers.
Chelsea may also be subject to the same jinx as the Italian team from this sponsorship, which would not bother this Man U fan at all.
